get_transcript
A 35-minute call on the Q3 launch. The budget held at 240k; the 90k marketing split was the open question and goes back for another look before Thursday's review. The rest was retention — the pruning job runs slower than the window it has.
You committed to two things:
- Send the revised marketing split before Thursday's review. 9:21 AM
- Get retention pruning onto staging so the numbers are real by the next standup. 9:34 AM
search_events
Seven hours and twenty minutes at the machine, in three shapes: 3h 25m in the editor on the retention branch, 2h 10m moving between Linear and Slack, and 51m in Stripe and Numbers.
Three things repeated often enough to hand off:
- You rebuilt the same failed-payments view in Stripe and pasted it into the billing sheet — four times, same columns. That is a scheduled export. 38 min
- Your standup note was typed by hand, and every line of it already existed as a commit or a Linear move. daily
- Eleven screenshot → paste → describe rounds into Linear. A capture shortcut that opens the issue prefilled removes the middle two. 11×

Ask your AI client
Ask in plain words and get answers that cite the moments they came from.
Use cases
Ask about your day
Recall your action items
Ask about this morning's call and get your commitments back, each with the time you said it.
get_transcript reads the call's
transcript in order.
Pick up where you left off
Ask what you were working on or what was on screen, instead of retracing tabs and windows.
search_events searches everything Lumi
indexed from every display.
Check before you act
Every answer cites the moments it came from, so you can confirm it before you send the follow-up.
Citations are timestamps from your own index.
Privacy and control
You stay in control
Your data stays on your Mac
Recordings, transcripts and the index live in
one folder:
~/Library/Application Support/Lumi.
There's no cloud, and Lumi works offline. Your AI client gets only the excerpts
it asks for.
Pause with one shortcut
Press ⌘R to pause recording, and press it again to resume. You can change the shortcut to anything you like.
Compress or delete anything
Compress or delete any of your data at any time.
What it asks for, and why
Screen Recording, to capture your displays and system audio. Microphone, to capture your side of calls. Speech is transcribed on device by Apple's built-in SpeechAnalyzer. Input Monitoring is optional and makes capture more responsive to what you're doing.
Other people on your calls
Lumi records system audio and your mic, so it records everyone on a call. Many places require everyone's consent. Tell people before you record, or press ⌘R to pause for that call.
